The Poet Olive Evans .OLIVE EVANS was born in England and graduated from Goldsmiths’ College, London. She moved to California with her family in 1968 and attended CSU, Dominguez Hills. After graduating, she worked extensively with young children as a teacher, writer, storyteller and director of Story Time Theater. Olive wrote her first book of poems, “The Thrift Store Bears” published in 2004, to help her through breast cancer treatment. The book features teddy bears she rescued from thrift stores over the years. “Adventures with The Thrift Store Bears” is the second book about the bears that live with Olive and her husband in their old redwood house by the sea. |

The Artist Pat Woolley PATRICIA WOOLLEY is an artist living in Manhattan Beach, California. Born in France, Pat studied at the Academie Julian in Paris and at the Art Center College of Design in Los Angeles. Although an avid lover and painter of teddy bears, Pat also paints landscapes, figures and still life. She travels to Provence, France each year to paint the village scenes and country landscapes she loves. Her work can be found in private collections in the U.S.A. and Europe. The Musician Jim Furmston JIM FURMSTON is a native of Canada and a graduate of the U.S.C. Thornton School of Music. Jim is in demand as a performer and composer, equally at home in both classical and commercial music. In addition to his work as a session player/arranger in Los Angeles, he was invited to perform a debut recital at New York’s Lincoln Center and the inaugural program of the Arnold Schoenberg Institute in Los Angeles. Currently Jim tours the country with Frank Ferrante in his one-man show “An Evening with Groucho.” When Jim is not working on other musical projects, he can be found on a squash court or in front of the computer trading the music of the S&P. |
